REMINDER SPRING TRIP MEETING
WEDNESDAY APRIL 3RD, 7:00 PM in the MRMS Cafe. At this meeting we will discuss student expectations, the final itinerary, and form deadlines. A document containing contact information and pertinent trip information as well as medical forms will be distributed.
Please do not make any further payments until after this meeting, the cost of the trip has decreased, and it is easier to collect the final payment then returning overages.
SPONSERS NEEDED
The Magothy River Middle School Instrumental Music Boosters Organization needs support to help us go to Music in the Parks this spring!
Our young musicians are currently preparing to showcase their hard work at Music in the Parks on May 3-4th in Hershey Park Pa. Over the years, Magothy River Middle School musicians have won many awards at this event, and it serves as an impactful and lasting memory for each student. However, preparing quality young musicians for this event not only requires student dedication and many volunteer hours, but also monetary support. Donations, whatever the amount, are imperative to support the financial burden of this trip. As such, we are seeking sponsorships to help reduce the overall costs for our families. As an independent 501(c)3, 100% donations goes towards the trip expenses and is fully tax deductible.
We are currently seeking sponsors for our trip and have a variety of sponsorship levels available. All donations will feature the donor's name on the back of our official Hershey Park Spring trip T-Shirts. We are accepting submissions from students for T-Shirt designs for our official trip T-Shirt. Students can use the back of the form, blank paper, or submit their design to our email address at mrmsipboosters@gmail.com.

Don’t forget the MRMS Boosters Spaghetti Dinner is almost here! February 2nd from 5:30pm-7:30pm at Magothy River Middle School. This event is open to all Parents, families, friends, neighbors. Tickets are $12 for Adults and $8 for students (6 and under are free).
All proceeds support MRMS Boosters and the students' spring competition and trip
to Hershey Park. When you purchase a ticket please complete the section noting the band student (first and last name) you would like to support. The more tickets a student sells, the more they earn towards their Spring Trip. Tickets include pasta, bread, salad, dessert, and drinks. We have created a Spaghetti Dinner event that is shareable on facebook. Please head to our facebook page and repost to spread the word and help support your student.
PARENTS: If your child is interested in a practice run for solo and ensemble they can sign up to perform during the Spaghetti Dinner. Please complete this Spaghetti Dinner Recital Signup.
SCHEDULE UPDATE - Due to the 2-hour delay there will be NO MORNING ORCHESTRA TUESDAY, JANUARY 16
There will be no Jazz Band rehearsal Tuesday afterschool.
There is no Concert Band Rehearsal on Wednesday, January 17, Jazz Band Only.
JAZZ BAND FESTIVAL IS STILL ON AT THIS TIME FOR WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 17. IF THERE IS A TWO-HOUR DELAY ON WEDNESDAY THERE WILL BE NO JAZZ BAND REHEARSAL IN THE MORNING.
IF THERE IS A TWO-HOUR DELAY ON WEDNESDAY THE JAZZ FESTIVAL SCHEDULE WILL BE ADJUSTED ACCORDINGLY. IF SCHOOL IS CANCELED THAT DAY, THE EVENT WILL BE CANCELED.
Jazz band students should plan to stay afterschool on Wednesday, January 17. They will need their polo shirt and khaki pants, no sweater. There will be pizza for sale so if they would like to bring money for purchase. Here is a link to the anticipated schedule for the Jazz band festival.

All music applicants are required to complete an online application, due by February 15, 2024 at 11:59pm. Please scan the QR Code below or use this google form link to complete and submit the audition application. Please record your audition prior to completing this form. Directions for completing the audition video can be found by clicking here. Audition scores are based on a rubric that includes technique, note accuracy, tempo, phrasing, interpretation and tone quality.
