A Note on Morning Rehearsal

Good Afternoon Parents,

I do appreciate all that you do for your children musically.  A reminder that 8AM downbeat to a musician means music is to be occurring at 8AM.  I do understand there are things beyond your control, however it is becoming problematic.

Also the members of the morning band that are going to be "in town" on Friday have decided they would like to have an additional rehearsal Friday at 9 AM until 10:15 AM.

After 10:15 I will be available to help with solo and ensemble. A sign-up will be posted Wednesday morning for time slots so not everyone comes at once.

Thank you,

Rob Stojakovich

Jazz Band Canceled/Solo and Ensemble Help

Jazz Band is canceled for Tuesday, February 13th.  Students wishing to get help with Solo & Ensemble music selection may stay for help on Tuesday and Thursday afternoon and take the activity bus home.

Smart Music Update

Dear Parents,

We have again started working on getting the smart music accounts to work.  We have worked our way through some of the snafus.

Many of the issues are coming in the way of forgotten passwords.  Passwords can be self reset if the student resets the password to the email they listed on their account when they set them up.

Reset prompts will come to that email and students can easily get back on.

If they can't remember the email account they used, I can give you the email they used. Please send a message to rstojakovich@aacps.org  with the subject smart music email reset.

If that doesn't work, their old accounts can be deleted and they will be able to create new ones with the assistance of the attached document.

If a student can get into their smart music account they will need to join new classes for their morning ensemble and or their instrument solo account.  These classes contain the songs for rehearsals and some solos.  Students can also request to have music selections put into their class content.

Thank you,

Rob Stojakovich

Movie Night - Friday Night - Purchase Tickets Here

Movie Night tickets can be purchased online this month.

Festival

Festival (also known as our annual assessment) will be held March 14th (band) and 15th (orchestra including full orchestra).  This is a mandatory event.

In preparation for this, we will be participating in a pre-festival concert with the High School and Severn River ensembles on March 6th (orchestra including full orchestra) and 7th (band).  This will be a very important rehearsal for the actual assessment and it is also mandatory unless pre-approval is given by Mr. S.

Full uniforms will be required for these events: MRMS sweater, MRMS polo, Khaki (tan) pants, dark dress shoes (brown or black and absolutely no athletic shoes), and dark socks.  At assessment, there is a graded category for uniformity.

The band permission slip and orchestra permission slip contain LOTS of information about rehearsal schedules leading up to the event, the concerts on the 6th and 7th, and schedule for Festival itself, and a request for chaperones, so please read them carefully and return the permission slip as soon as possible.
